The purpose of this policy is to outline how applicants can demonstrate English language skills to the CLHA. English language skills involve four criteria: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. All applicants must demonstrate adequate English language skills before registration.
July 2026 – Updated English language proficiency requirements to reflect previously approved changes with CCPNR, removed the Duolingo English Test, aligned LPN and HCA policies, and incorporated findings from a review of other jurisdictions.
