Free Learning Modules Available for HCAs
Health Care Aides (HCAs) in Alberta can access free learning modules through their MyCLHA accounts.
These modules, hosted on our Learning Management System (LMS), help build HCA competencies and support safe, ethical care. Access to the LMS is not available to employers.
Currently Available Modules
A full list of currently available modules is on the Knowledge Hub. Topics covered in these modules include the following:
- Understanding professional regulation;
- Medical terminology;
- Documentation;
- Professional communication; and
- Other key topics in safe, competent, and ethical practice.
New modules will be added regularly, and HCAs will be notified by email.
Access to Modules for LPNs
HCAs will also have access to modules created for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for informational purposes only. Note that while HCAs can take these modules, they will not have access to complete a final exam or receive a certificate of completion.
