Courtesy Registration

Courtesy Registration allows Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse (Ontario) applicants who are currently registered in another Canadian jurisdiction to register as an LPN in Alberta to practice for a period of three months or less for a reason approved by the CLHA. Fees may be waived in the case of an emergency registration.

  2. Set up CLHA account: Within five business days of submitting, your application will be entered into the CLPNA database and you will receive an email from Alinity to set up your account with the CLHA.
  3. Pay application fee: Once your account is set up, you will receive an invoice to pay a $25 application fee.
  4. Submit criminal record check: You are required to submit a criminal record check through Backcheck. By following the link, your criminal record check will be submitted directly to the CLHA.
