2026 LPN Survey

As the regulator for the practical nurse profession, the CLHA is committed to supporting safe competent care for all Albertans. Our mission is to regulate in a manner that promotes excellence so that Albertans have confidence in the care they receive from LPNs throughout their personal healthcare journey.

It is important to us, as a regulator, to understand what’s happening in the health system and the impacts on our registrants and the care provided to Albertans.

We conducted surveys in 2018 and 2023 that offered us insights into the impact of the pandemic on LPNs. The results highlighted that the pandemic placed significant pressures on LPNs and had impacts on both their wellbeing and professional practice. As a regulator, we continue to monitor these trends and experiences to support LPNs in providing safe, competent, and ethical care.

The 2026 LPN survey asks questions related to demographics, characteristics of the nurse practice environment, and self-reported health. Hearing from you will help the CLHA to understand what is impacting LPNs and the care they provide.

The survey will remain open until June 26, 2026. Participants who complete the survey will be entered into a draw for 1 of 15 $50 VISA gift cards as a thank you for their time.
