John Corriveau Named Newest Public Member of CLHA Council
The Council of the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) is pleased to welcome John Corriveau, P.Eng. as its newest public representative. With more than 25 years of regulatory leadership experience, John brings extensive expertise in governance, legislative development, and regulatory compliance. Prior to retirement, he served as Deputy Registrar and Chief Regulatory Officer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
John has worked closely with APEGA’s Council and regulatory boards and committees, including the Board of Examiners, Practice Review Board, Investigative Committee, Discipline Committee, and Appeal Board. His career has been marked by a strong commitment to public interest governance, risk management, and strengthening professional regulatory systems.
John is a professional engineer and holds certificates in Strategic Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies, the Osgoode Certificate in Adjudication for Administrative Agencies, Boards, and Tribunals, a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering, and a Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology.
Council membership consists of 50% regulated members (appointed in accordance with the Bylaws), and 50% public members (appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council pursuant to the Health Professions Act). The Council is responsible for the governance of the CLPNA and the oversight of the CLPNA’s management.
