Webinar: What Is a Restricted Activity? (Nov. 26)

Restricted activities are high-risk health services that only authorized health care professionals can perform. These activities are outlined in the Health Professions Restricted Activity Regulation and expanded on in the Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses on Restricted Activities, Advanced Practice, and Supervision. They require additional education, skills, and direct, indirect, or indirect remote supervision.

An LPN is authorized to perform restricted activities as outlined in the Health Professions Restricted Activities Regulation and in accordance with requirements in standards of practice. However, the LPN must ensure they have the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform them in specific situations and environments. If the LPN does not, they are responsible for seeking assistance to ensure the client receives the required care.

The requirements for supervision of restricted activities in the practice of licensed practical nursing are outlined in the Health Professions Restricted Activity Regulation, where necessary.

This webinar will provide information on:

  • LPN Scope of Practice
  • Restricted Activities
  • Factors for performing Restricted Activities
  • Supervision Requirements
  • Advanced Authorizations

The webinar includes a LIVE Q&A with a CLHA Professional Practice Advisor.
